My family moved to Oak Harbor in 1965, my Dad transferring with GTE from La Habra, CA.  My parents were determined to raise their family of 5 in a better environment than southern California, so we relocated to our own little 10 acre farm near Deception Pass.  I have so many wonderful childhood memories of that farm; the countless animals, haying fields, running around bare foot and the crazy antics of a large family.  My parents still reside in Oak Harbor, recently celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary!

I purchased Tradewinds Insurance from Wells Fargo in 2003, along with my business partners, Robert Young and Rita Stephenson.  In 2005, we also acquired Richardson Insurance, a long time local independent insurance agency.  In 2018, Rita retired from the business and relocated to the state of Nevada.  In December of 2022, I lost my colleague and friend, Robert Young, to a hard fought battle with kidney disease.  Robert loved the insurance industry, his local community and most especially the people that he met and helped throughout his career.  He will be greatly missed in the industry, as a business leader in our community, and in our agency.  Today, I am the sole owner of Tradewinds Insurance, continuing a legacy that we started back in 2003.  A legacy of being passionate about small business and local community.  You will often see me, along with my amazing staff, at local events, parades and charities.

When I'm not at the office, I enjoy traveling, wine tasting, watching classic movies (and a lot of action movies, having raised two sons) and reading.  I especially love traveling with my two sons and daughter-in-law as well as my extended family.  We have been to some amazing places and I'm looking forward to more as I tackle my US bucket list.
